Allow Late Assignment Submissions

Applies to: Instructors, Staff, Students

To allow late submissions for an assignment in Canvas, the "Until Date" must be set to a time and date after the "Due Date."

• If the "Until Date" matches the "Due Date", or if the "Until Date" field is left blank, assignments submitted after the "Due Date" will not be accepted and the submit button will not be visible.
  • e.g. - If both the "Until Date" and "Due Date" are 4/2/2021, students won't see the Submit button or be able to submit after this date.
• If the "Until Date" is later than the "Due Date", submissions will be accepted until the "Until Date" has passed.
  • e.g. - If the "Due Date" is 4/2/2021, and the "Until Date" is 4/4/2021. Students will have access to the Submit button and be able to submit their work until after 4/4/2021.
