Windows Local Account Information

OfficeOfInformationTechnology_Horz_digitalonly_BR.svg

Applies to: Employees, Students, Windows 10

By default, when a username is entered into a domain joined machine, and there is also a local account with the same name. The domain account will take precedence.

To log into the Local Account you will need to specify the machine name in front of the username, e.g. ITSXXXXXX\username.

TIP: Instead of typing the entire ITS number, you can also type .\ before the username. This forces local account login instead of domain login. This is especially helpful if the ITS number is out of reach.
